At Tropicana, the consumer is always at the center of our decision making. Because of that, we redesigned our bottles to directly address their concerns around ease of opening, ease of handling, storage and desire for less plastic, as well as offering more affordable juice options. The new packaging accomplishes these goals and extends to both our multi-serve and single-serve bottles across our orange juice and juice drinks.
- We’ve optimized the size of our multi-serve products, moving from a 52oz – 46oz package and lowered the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP): $3.99 vs $4.69 for orange juice and $2.99 vs $3.39 for juice drinks.
- We’ve optimized the size of our single-serve bottles, moving from a 12oz – 11oz package. The MSRP on these products is not changing, still $2.15 to help offset the realities of inflation and increased costs, and ensure we can continue to offer the delicious Tropicana products people love.
- In both sizes, the cap no longer includes the induction seal therefore is easy to open, without compromising product safety, and contains less plastic: 52% less in the 11oz and 61% less in the 46oz.
For our multi-serve 46oz products, most consumers should see a nearly 4% decrease in price per oz for our orange juice and no increase in price per oz for our juice drinks. The MSRP for our single serve 11oz bottle will remain the same, which does result in a higher price per ounce. Maintaining this price helps us manage the challenges of inflation and increased costs while ensuring we can continue to offer the delicious Tropicana products people love.
It is possible that for a brief time, retailers have not adjusted their on-shelf pricing while transitioning from our old to new packaging. Please know that our new 46oz bottles do cost less than the previous 52oz: the MSRP for our 46oz orange juice is $3.99 vs $4.69 for the 52oz, and $2.99 vs $3.39 for juice drinks.
Absolutely. The new cap is purposely designed to eliminate the need for an inner seal to make the product easy to open. This does not compromise product safety.
Yes, we’ve modernized the product design. This includes a refreshed label to fit the new bottle dimensions and make it easier to find on shelf, as well as new cap colors to create consistency and help differentiate our products. Orange juice will have orange caps, Juice Drinks green, and any lower sugar products – for orange juice or juice drinks – blue.
Due to production realities, the new labels and cap colors were implemented on our multi-serve products first and will be applied to our new 11oz bottles later this year.

There will be no changes in the quality or taste of delicious Tropicana products. The packaging changes we made will improve the overall experience of consuming our product, making it easy to pour, store and open.
